Analysis of antioxydants
The team at CAMELLIA SINENSIS Teahouse conducted, in collaboration with the College Centres for the Transfer of Technologies TransBIOTech, a study on the levels of antioxidants and caffeine in different teas. The analyses were conducted so that the results reflect what the tea drinker gets at home, in the context of daily consumption.
CONCENTRATION OF ANTIOXIDANTS AS MEASURED BY THE ABTS-TEAC METHOD.
All teas were weighed at 5g and brewed in a teapot, in 500 ml of water, except for the Matchas, which has been whipped in a bowl containing 100 ml of water. It is important to note that for the Matcha, the concentration of tea compared to the amount of water is higher than other teas because we chose to measure levels of antioxidants in relation to how the tea is normally consumed.
