Here is a green tea produced in the Chinese style of Maofeng teas with its leaves rolled in curly twists. Its liquor is lively and astringent, with notes of artichokes, apricot and warm honey. A vigorously tonic green tea for your everyday consumption.
How to prepare a tea-based tonic syrup
TEA-BASED TONIC SYRUP RECIPE
1 3/4 cup sugarcane
2 1/2 cup water
1 chopped lemongrass stem
1/4 cup cinchona bark
Juice and zest of ½ lemon
1 teaspoon of citric acid (for conservation)
7.5g of Tea Studio green tea | Nilgiri Mao Feng
Bring water to a boil with sugar, lemongrass and the cinchona bark
Let simmer for 15 minutes
Remove from stove top
Add the tea, lemon juice and citric acid
Infuse at room temperature for 1 hour
Filter and serve.
3/4 oz of tea-based tonic syrup
1 1/2 oz of gin
3 oz sparkling water
Serve on ice with wedge of lime.
