Local Ceramist

Robin Boogaerts - Montreal (Qc)

Robin Boogaerts

Portrait

Although Robin Boogaerts is a new face in the world of ceramics he is very well known among our team. In fact it was his time spent working with the team at Camellia Sinensis that led him deeper into the world of tea and then to pottery.

Working in the tea world Robin realised the great lack in locally made specialised teaware.  Gaiwan and gong fu cha teapots are extremely complexed to make well.

An eminent globetrotter, poet, photographer and tea-lover, Robin clearly channels all that is aesthetically pleasing to him into his work, producing precise and stunningly beautiful and exceptionally functional objects.

This gong fu cha teapot inspires us with the success of a craftsman combining the expertise of several generations of ceramists. However, it is a very local work of a newcomer, the ceramist Robin Boogaerts, the very first of his lineage.
