It is hard to imagine that this true collection piece by Jingdezhen’s very talented Ye Juan was hand painted.

Bombilla

La bombilla est l'ustensile qui permettra de boire le maté de façon traditionnelle. Elle nous provient directement d'une coopérative artisanale de Buenos Aires, l'Argentine étant un des pays phares de la culture maté.

La bombilla est en fait une paille métallique munie d'une extrémité filtrante. Conçu en spirale, ce filtre est pensé pour se nettoyer facilement. Cette paille a une légère inclinaison pour plus d'ergonomie et un collier doré ajoute une touche de coquetterie.

This Calabash is the creation of the Quebec ceramist Julie Lavoie.

The shape is inspired by the shape of the gourd, the fruit in which the mate was originally consumed.

Each gourd is uniquely crafted, with colours and capacity which vary from one to another. Beautiful artisanal work.

The shape is inspired by the shape of the gourd, the fruit in which the mate was originally consumed.

Each gourd is uniquely crafted, with colours and capacity which vary from one to another.  Beautiful artisanal work.

Calabash from Makiko | Kasumi

This Calabash is the creation of the Quebec ceramist Makiko.

The calabash is the fruit shell from which mate is traditionally consumed. Although different from that original form, this will win you over with its resilience and stability.

The traditional craft aspect of these calabashes makes them all unique. This why the colour gradients and volume may vary from one to another. Evidence of a work made by hand!
