Kyusu

With complete dedication to his craft, Ito Gafu has become an inspiration to the Tokoname artisan community.

This young potter creates his own clay using only local soil. Very few potters are so specific as it takes longer and entails more work to follow this ancestral practice.

Gafu insists on controlling every single step of his creation process despite the extra time that it requires.

He boldly incorporates traditional forms and styles as a base for his personal aesthetic and artistic expression.

Diameter of the opening: 5.8 cm

Kabaizaiku Tea Box | Lacquered Wood

This japanese tea caddy is entirely clad in cherry wood, one of japan's emblematic trees.

Kamairicha Organic

From an organic culture on Kyushu Island, this tea is produced by pan-fried method (kamairi), instead of the conventional Japanese method of steaming. This style of transformation gives a particular balance between bitterness and sweetness, exempt from the typical astringency found in Sencha style teas.
