Ali Shan

From the mountain of Ali Shan, Taiwan, this high altitude wulong is one of our grand classics. A sweet and fruity liquor has notes of coconut strong floral aroma with an edge of vanilla.

Ali Shan 1999 (Charcoal Roast)

Plucked by hand and aged since 1999 by successive charcoal roasting, this high mountain tea offers an infusion with glossy black leaves and warm fragrances. Its liquor is rounded, velvety and deploys a broad range of aromatic nuances, with accents through woods and vanilla to notes of iodine (seaweed) and empyreumatics (coffee, caramel). The finish is gentle and deep.

Anji Bai Cha

Anji Bai Cha is a treasure of refinement visible in the sight of its beautiful threadlike leaves, resembling pine needles. In the infusion they blossom to provide a liquor of a translucent jade hue. On the palate, sweet and tangy flavors are enhanced by vegetal notes (bok choy), gourmet (pine nuts, butter) and flowers. A tasty tea with a sublime and delicate finish.

Anxi Tie Guan Yin

Legendary rolled wulong from Fujian (China), Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is one of the country’s best representatives. Its sharp, sweet taste and its characteristic flowery aromas (lilacs and lilies) made it a favorite both East and West. This particularly aromatic harvest comes from M. Zhang Guo Hua’s gardens, in the mountainous region of Anxi. Grown in altitude, his tea bursts with intensity.

Bai Hao

This is a new lot of this famous wulong made by Mr. Xu in Taiwan, highly prized for its aromatic complexity. Composed of many buds and small leaves, it possesses intoxicating aromas of cooked pears, spices and heady flowers. Its liquor is rich and sweet evoking warm buckwheat honey or caramelized root vegetables. A satisfying daily drink, for its invigorating effect and its flavors!

Bai Hao 2008

Aged for almost ten years, this wulong from Mr. Xu is sure to charm all admirers with the scent of brown sugar that emanates from its blend of whole leaves and fine silver buds. In infusion flavours of bark and roasted coffee dominate the aromatic spectrum. Its liquor, clear and mineral, retains a certain vitality despite its years of dormancy. Buckwheat (honey) and butter caramel notes enhance the slightly spicy pastry aspect of this tea from the North West of Taiwan.

Bai Hao Jingmai Organic

Following the aesthetic of a Bai Hao with the cultivar (qingshin), a favourite of the Taiwanese, this "Oriental Beauty" comes to us from plantations located on the flanks of the Jingmai mountain in Yunnan (China). Its long leaves with hues of ochre and khaki reveal, upon immersion in water, rich fragrances of bark and cooked pears. Its attractive amber liquor boasts sweet and tart flavors evoking citrus zest. The finish lightly cradles the palate with its nuances of sweet spices (cinnamon) and heady flowers.

Bai Rui Xiang

A worthy representative of the rock wulongs, this wulong with delicately rolled leaves was only slightly roasted, preserving its flavourful vegetal (courgette) and floral fineness. Its full and tangy (tangerine) liquor, deploys rich tropical (durian) and honeyed aromas. Its finish is exquisite and extends well beyond our expectations. Hmmm Hmmm!

Bai Ye Long Jing

Rolled in the classic style of Long Jing, this is a beautiful creation from our producer of Huiming. A delightful tender green colour, this tea, grown from the modern cultivar Bai Ye no.1, presents beautiful flat leaves. Sweet and full, the liquor is silky and fluid. Its dominant vegetal character (bok choy) is vitalized by floral notes and a fine acidity reminiscent of green apple. A tea that asserts itself gently.

Bancha Shizuoka

A flat-leaf Japanese green tea from the region of Shizuoka. Contains very little caffeine. Gives a sweet liquor with very little astrincency. A perfect introduction to Japanese tea.

Bhutan Samcholing

Amateurs of oddities will be served with this rare green tea from Bhutan. Even more than served. In Samcholing village, 43 acres of land were dedicated to tea farming and a micro-factory was put in place to produce an average of 600 kg of fresh leaves each year. The only tea production in the country. The project, led by an all-women cooperative, represent a serious accomplishment on both socio-cultural and agricultural levels. Bringing dignity and financial stability to the 27 families living there, the tea fields, sitting at 1800m high, produce one of the finest raw material on the planet.

Da Hong Pao 1994

This famous "rock wulong" from Fujian is offered in this version aged for more than twenty years.

Da Hong Pao Mr Wu

Legendary wulong from the Wuyi mountains of Fujian, it is the most famous of the "rock teas", as they are called. Delicately twisted whole leaves are lightly roasted for a rich full liquor. Its woody aromatic character is expertly enhanced by rich notes of pecans, cocoa and fruits (gooseberry). The experience is deep, leaving a long after-impression in the mouth, delicately tart and sweet - reminiscent of caramel. 

Dejiang Long Zhu

Coming straight from a new garden project perched at 1,200 meters above sea level in eastern Guizhou, this tea harvested from 5-year-old seedlings of the Fuding Da Bai cultivar was grown without chemicals, as evidenced by the results of our laboratory tests in Shanghai. Its name (De Jian Long Zhu) refers to the young shoots strewn with buds rolled into small pearls that make up this everyday green tea. A bold and frankly vegetable liquor, evoking the taste of snow peas. Fruity and empyreumatic accents (smoked mussels) complete the tasting of this accessible, thirst quenching tea.

This First Class, award-winning wulong is one of the last one hundred teas in its category from the 6000 lots presented this year at the Luku contest. As required by the competition, the leaves are tightly rolled with the typical colours of the region's traditional roasting. Dong Ding Competition Special Mention #5 | Collection Box

We are proud to offer you this lot that has received an Honourable Mention in at the annual Luku competition. This lot was ranked in the top 10 teas  of 6000. Its golden liqueur is sweet and full, combined with its slightly acidulous notes. Sweet hints of pineapple and candied fruit, oatmeal cookies and almond butter. The whole experience is supported by well integrated tannins and a bright briskness. This masterpiece builds towards a long finale where floral and fruity accents dominate. A gem for the lucky few!

Dong Ding Mr Chang

Over the years, wulongs from Dong Ding Mountain have made quite a name for themselves. Grown in high-altitude, shorter daylight and greater temperature variations concentrate the aromatic oils in the slow budding leaves. They are well known amongst tea enthusiasts for their creamy texture and buttery taste.

Dong Ding Mr Nen Yu (Roasted)

The expertise of M.Nen Yu is doubly honored here with this tasty cooking of Dong Ding. The dark khaki leaves exhibit from their infusion intoxicating fragrances of berries (raspberry jam), honey and toast. Its liquor, rich and creamy, reveals a nice balance between its wooded and vegetal aspects. This generous tea also features an exotic finish of pineapple and flowers.

Dong Ding Mrs Lin (Charcoal Roast)

From the famous mountain Dong Ding and cooked in the traditional way on charcoal, this tea has a nice mix of dark leaves. Its fragrance is rich and diverse and evokes the typical aromatic complexity of wulong, having notes that span toasted grains to flowers. Its liquor is full and soft, and the fruity finish (plum) is sweet and spicy.

Guei Fei

Harvested in the vicinity of Dong Ding, the leaves of this wulong offer various colours from khaki to dark green, reflecting their moderate oxidation. The brew offers generous aromas of flowers and red fruits. The amber liquor is velvety and well balanced. Fine notes of spice bread (cinnamon) lead us to the soft sweet finish.

Huiming Jingning Bai Organic

Our producer of Jingning (Zhejiang) never disappoints and this tea is no different.  Produced from a wild and local plant, it is both a feast for the eyes and taste. Once infused, the liqueur is surprisingly clear, vibrant, full, fat and overpowered by gourmet vegetal notes (asparagus with butter).  This balanced and refined tea is enhanced by a fresh and floral final evoking May lilacs.

Huiming Organic

This tea from Zhejiang is produced by the master hand of Mr He, a dynamic and forward-thinking producer. The curly leaves accompanied by generous buds release in infusion a tasty and oily liquor. Bright and lively, it deploys a powerful fragrance of spring flowers. Its fruity (peach) and grassy nuances support its long nebulous finish. A fine and balanced tea.

Huo Shan Huang Ya

Easily recognizable by its long slender leaves, this classic Chinese green tea comes from Huo Shan County (litt. “Huo Shan Yellow Buds”) in Anhui. Well known for is refined visual and delicate aromas, it has been an imperial tribute since the Ming Dynasty.

Jin Shuan

Produced in Taiwan, Jin Shuan is the original “cream wulong”. This cultivar is single handedly responsible for the explosion of milk additives on today’s tea markets. Enjoyed by Taiwanese for its creamy texture and buttery aromas, we offer it here in its simplest form, void of any augmented flavours. You’ll find refreshing flowery notes (lily, dandelions) alongside vanilla overtones and, perhaps, a subtle spicy finish (cinnamon, nutmeg). All famously coated in this thick and syrupy texture.

Kabusecha Saemidori organic

This green, shade grown tea, its unusual use of the cultivar (Saemidori) and its final drying (hiire), reflects a modern aesthetic, giving a fruity fragrance to the dry leaves. Its liquor is oily and flavorful (umami), dominated by its green chlorophyll and fresh butter notes. Its delicate floral (gardenia) accents harmoniously fuse with fruitier nuances. Enthusiasts take note! It is organic too.

Kabusecha Surugawase

Produced by Asami Ito, the only woman producer in Shizuoka, this Kabusecha Surugawase shows an incredible vitamin concentration, like only the richest Japanese teas can offer. Dense bright green liquor promises an intense aromatic experience.

Kabusecha Takamado

Grown and processed in the region of Uji in Japan, this "shade-tea" is of great finesse. Shade structures which block up to 70% of the light are placed over the tea plants two weeks before harvest in order to soften the leaves and increase the chlorophyll concentration.

Kamairicha Organic

From an organic culture on Kyushu Island, this tea is produced by pan-fried method (kamairi), instead of the conventional Japanese method of steaming. This type of transformation gives a particular balance between bitterness and sweetness.

Li Shan

This high mountain wulong tea was harvested from Mr. Chang Fu Chin’s garden, located on the slopes of the ‘Pear Mountain' (Li Shan) at over 2000 m. Its beautiful leaves, exploding with aromatic oils, deliver a supple and vegetal liquor, enhanced by a velvety texture and charming flowery aromas. Its sweet and lingering finish aptly completes the fascinating flavour profile of this grand cru !

Lingtou Yin Hua Xiang

Grown without pesticide around Lingtou village in northern Guangdong, this artisanal Yin Hua Xiang is of a rare gustative quality.

Lingtou Yuan Wei Dancong

A classic black wulong from Guangdong, both very suave and exotic. This tea comes from a less exploited side of the Dan Cong Mountains where crops are grown without chemicals. Its lively and fruity liquor (guava and honeydew melon) displays intense honey and floral fragrances. Powerful in the mouth, vegetal and woody notes are supported by generous tannins. Produced from thirty years old plants, this deep and well balanced tea offers a lot of infusions. Its finish is long, true to its name (meaning "taste of origin"), and worthy of exceptional teas.

Long Jing Jingning Bai

The cultivar used to produce this great tea comes from wild tea plants reproduced by grafting. On infusion, its tender yellow-green leaves reveal rich fragrances of forest flowers and fresh hazelnuts. Its light and flowing liquor is full and its tangy flavour, reminiscent of rocket, leaves a pleasant sensation of freshness.

Long Jing Shi Feng

Praised for the beauty of its steeping leaves and the fresh chestnut scents they give off, Long Jing is the most famous green tea in China. Harvested in Shi Feng (original terroir), Zhejiang, this small production (20kg) is masterfully created by the Tang family, with whom we have been working since 2003. Complex aromas and smooth liquor, this grand cru combines aromatic richness and finely balanced flavors.

This green tea from Anhui is one of China’s ten most famous teas. Its reputation comes from a very specific plucking, where only mature leaves are taken from the trees and the buds left in place. Heated in steel woks and flattened with bamboo brushes, the leaves take on a bluish tint that really highlights this great style.

This green tea embellished with peony petals and essence of lychee offers a balanced and sweet liquor. A long floral persistence transports us to the heart of an exotic country.

Madame la Marquise

A Chinese wulong blended with dried apricot pieces, a favorite among lovers of creamy, exotic, thirst-quenching beverages. Makes as excellent an iced tea as it does a hot tea.

A delicious matcha with an excellent quality / price ratio brought to us by the Osafumi brothers, second generation producers. This matcha comes from the mythical region of Uji, near Kyoto (the former capital of Japan), and more precisely from Ujitawara, hometown of Nagatani Soen, inventor of the sencha tea style. Its powerful and tasty emulsion offers a velvety texture and a slightly bitter-sweet flavor, with notes of oily grass and snow peas. A touch of gentle iodine tickles the palate, overshadowing everything.

Meng Ding Gan Lu

Sichuan lavishness us with green teas with fine downy buds. Damp leaves fill the air with sweet gourmet (hazelnut) and marine fragrances. Its delicate green liquor is dense and rich with aromas of green vegetables (roasted fiddle-heads) and fruity nuances. Mucha Tie Guan Yin 1994

Produced in Mucha near the capital of Taiwan, this tea has typically been cooked 60 hours before being aged for over 20 years. These two processes are involved in changing the color of the leaves and the liquor (reddish brown), and for the transformation of the characteristic aromas. Woody notes (bark), fruit (dried fruit) and roasted/toasted (tobacco, toast) alternate to a mineral and sweet finish.
