Quebec ceramist Makiko Nakamura Hicher works her cups to give them this irregular and ageing effect.

She passes multiple layers of glaze with a sponge on each to acquire beautiful shades of colour. Then, material is removed with a needle to achieve the result desired by the artist.

These stages of creation give a lot of flair and texture to her pieces which are still light and delicate in the hand.

Each gourd is uniquely crafted, with colours and capacity which vary from one to another. Beautiful artisanal work.

Cup from Julie Lavoie | Tenmoku

It was in a teahouse in Japan that the potter Julie Lavoie discovered Tenmoku. On seeing the works of Kamada Koji for the first time, she was inspired by the 'starry skies' effect, unique to this glaze. Like a premonition, this idea of meteors had already appeared in her work before this journey.

Wintergreen (20g Bag)

In spite of the fact that this small robust indigenous plant of Quebec (gaulthérie couchée) is not related to tea, its English name, Wintergreen, appropriately evokes the refreshing effect that it can bring to different types of inflammations (fevers, joint pains).
